Canola Oil
Canola Oil is derived from the crushing of Canola seeds, which have an oil content of around 40% by weight. Canola belongs to the mustard family, and is a major oilseed crop in North America, Australia, Asia and Europe.
Product Characteristics
Canola is high in monounsaturated fatty acids and is a rich source of plant derived Omega-3 essential fatty acids. Canola is considered a healthy oil by many consumers due to its very low level of saturated fat, however the GM status of Canola produced by many countries means Sunflower Oil is increasingly considered as an alternative.
Uses & Applications
Canola Oil is used throughout the food industry – for example, as an ingredient in sauces, salad dressings, mayonnaises and dips and as shortening in the baking industry. It is often used for deep frying foods which are subsequently frozen, (e.g. fish fingers) and is also suitable for deep frying in a food service environment.
Note: Under normal circumstances, an MOQ of 8 x 20 litres applies to all orders
